Archive copies and print use
Beall’s List PDF and archive notes
Many researchers search for a Beall’s List PDF because they want a printable record. A PDF can be useful for documentation, but it should never replace current verification.

Why PDF copies become risky
A PDF freezes information at one point in time. Since then, a publisher may have changed ownership, a journal may have changed title, an indexing record may have been discontinued, or a hijacked site may have appeared. For a serious decision, always compare the PDF against current public records.
Better documentation
For hiring, funding, thesis submission, or manuscript withdrawal decisions, keep an evidence file: current journal URL, archived URL, ISSN record, indexing record, APC page, peer-review policy, invitation email, and any invoice or acceptance letter.
Printable use of this site
You may print relevant pages from the browser for internal review. Include the page URL and the date you accessed it so later readers understand the timing of the evidence.
When a PDF is still useful
A PDF can be useful for meetings, grant files, or a student advisory note when internet access is limited. The file should be treated like a snapshot. Add the access date and, where possible, attach current verification records so the PDF does not become the only evidence.
Recommended file name for evidence
For internal records, use a file name that includes the journal or publisher, the date, and the type of evidence, such as publisher-name-indexing-check-2026-06-19.pdf. Clear documentation prevents confusion months later.
